Two Local Idols go to Hollywood

I confess, I do watch American Idol.  I was sucked in originally to Pop Idol in 2002 while visiting London. Luckily, we have TiVo so I can fast forward through all the idiots they allow through so they can humiliate them on national TV.

This year, two capital district idols auditioned and showed that we have real talent here in upstate New York.  We’ll all be watching the Hollywood Idol segments to show our support for Melissa Sgambelluri from Albany and Schalmont student Jenry Bejarano from Rotterdam.

Village of Scotia Priorities

Last month I posted a poll asking readers what activities they enjoyed the most in Collins Park.  The most popular selection turned out to be Freedom Park.  Hopeful, that will still be true in 2007 even though the Burners U.K. won’t be back this summer.  The 2nd and 3rd most popular activities included spending time at the Scotia Library, and just enjoying the peaceful nature of our park.

Today I’ve posted a new poll asking readers to comment on what the priorities should be in the Village of Scotia for the coming year.  We have a new mayor and two new trustees all eager to make a difference. While VisitScotia.com doesn’t officially represent our village administration I will be sure and share the results with anyone interested.
