Spring Time Birds on Collins Lake

Young Bald Eagle Fishing on Collins Lake
For the last two years we’ve had many bald eagle sightings over Collins Park and this year is no different. This young eagle has been looking for lunch along with our resident ducks and returning geese.

James Buhrmaster of Scotia NYScotia business man and Schenectady County Legislator James Buhrmaster officially announced today that he’ll be running for Congress.  Buhrmaster is the president of the Buhrmaster Energy Group on Sacandaga Rd. Jim will be running for the seat being vacated by Michael McNulty of Green Island.

For those reporting the story it's spelled Buhrmaster, and not Burhmaster. I mention that just so people typing in the wrong spelling into Google will still find this page.

Eagles Back in Scotia

It was exactly two years ago that I was first thrilled to watched a pair of Bald Eagles fishing in Collins Lake. While there were a few sightings last year this recent photo shows they’re back! Local nature photographer Bunch Lewis caught this beautiful sight just west of Freemans Bridge.
