Friends & Neighbors Honor the Life of Kate Pytlovany

Katherine (Kate) Pytlovany, 58, of Scotia, New York, passed away Thursday, June 24, 2010, surrounded by her loving family after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Niskayuna, NY, the daughter of the late Donald and Marguerite Bates.
One of three children, she was predeceased by her two younger brothers, Thomas and David Bates. Kate was a 1970 graduate of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School.

katestory Kate was known to light up any room she walked into. Her sense of humor was second to none, and her "storytelling" skills were beyond compare. She often stated that her greatest achievements were her children and that being a nana was the most unconditional love one could feel. For the sake of her husband and children, Kate sacrificed any personal and career goals to make them always her priority. Her unselfish spirit made her a "mother" to many. Her wisdom and strength made her an incredible friend. Kate's playful love was always evident with John, her devoted husband of 39 years.

Through her support and sacrifices John was able to reach his many goals. She leaves behind for us, her sense of peace, a love of nature, and the ability to forgive and forget.
